My Current Works & Where to Purchase (2016-2018) + 2018 Writing Goals

Long time, no post. I really should figure out at least a semi-consistent schedule.

Anyways, the past 3.1 years (translation: Nov. 2016-Jan. 2018) have been a big deal to me, having finally been published on 3 different occasions. It still hasn't hit me that there are readers out there who have gotten and will get to read my stuff, but nonetheless, it's definitely surreal to think about.

2016: A super busy year for me due to being part of the collective collaboration for Princess Leilani and the Lanu Tree, which is the fifth installment of the GUARDIAN PRINCESS book series where I was also finishing up my internship and transitioning to a staff member for THE GUARDIAN PRINCESS ALLIANCE, A Division of S.T.R.O.N.G. Edutainment (501c3). While I'm not one of the co-authors, I wrote the "songs" for the Leilani story, as well as served as co-editor, researcher, and concept artist. To purchase a hardcover, softcover, or eBook copy of the book (and other GP books), visit our webstore: http://store.guardianprincesses.com/category-s/1817.htm

2017: This is technically a belated publication, but my poem, "This Santo Nino Is...", was one of the chosen Editor Submissions for UC Riverside's MOSAIC Art and Literary Journal, Issue #55. I served as a Poetry Editor for Issues #54 and #55. To purchase a copy of Issue #55, visit the MOSAIC website (it doesn't list #55, but feel free to shoot them an e-mail about available copies prior to purchasing): https://mosaiczine.com/purchase-a-book/

2018: ANO BA ZINE wasn't my first attempt at submitting to a non-university-affiliated press, but they were the first to say yes to 3 poems: "And the Concrete Grew All Around", "Push", and "Notice". I submitted to Issue #3 back in February 2017 and was accepted later that Fall. This latest issue is now available for purchase for $20 through their Facebook Messenger or Instagram DM

And now what?

Keep writing, of course. And since it's the New Year and all, here are my initial writing goals for the year (in no particular order):

  • Submit more poetry. Been writing and editing my WIPs and starting to compile submissions.
  • Read more (Gotta reach that Goodreads Goal!)
  • Revisit NING SANTOS and continue drafting. Had a consistent rhythm going last year until I wrote myself into a hole. So, like Hamilton, I'll write my way out.
  • Creative Collab for the Princess Saya story for GP (not co-authoring this story, but I will be doing research and concept art before we start drafting)
